To win you have to play. In order to check things off your list you have to try. To obtain victory you have to finish.
After 20 long weeks of training the mission was accomplished. I completed my first Olympic triathlon this past Sunday, June 22, 2014. What an amazing feeling it was to cross the finish line. It was like a scene from a movie, I crossed the finished line with my run coach, Rhonda, and immediately broke down in tears with overwhelming emotions. Saying to myself, “This is what victory feels like,” as I desperately was gasping for air – lol!
This was a huge triumph as I stretched myself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually during this journey. This was by far only the beginning and a sample of what I can accomplish when I am prepared and positioned correctly.
So Yes, I came up against all sorts of challenges that made me think, rethink, and think again – “Why are you doing this?” But deep down, I knew that this wasn’t about me and it was just a gateway to inspire others to follow their hearts. Quitting is and was not an option for me. So the obstacles I conquered were probably mad when I dominated them. But hey, I am more than a conquer and I was put here to dominate, and you are too!
A very special thank you to everyone who assisted me throughout this journey. You know who you are and have a special place in my heart! To the best Triathlon Club: YMCA National Capital Triathlon Team (YTri), hands down this is the best club I have been a member of. Thank for pushing me pass my norm.

It doesn’t really matter how you finished…. Just that you finished. – Michanda
